Welcome

The Fluid Dynamics and Geophysical and Technological Applications (DF-GeoTech) research group consists of physicists and engineers with PhDs in physical sciences doing research in the field of fluids. They research fundamental problems in fluid dynamics together with applications in geophysics (atmospheric sciences and coastal morphodynamics) and technology (aeronautics). Methodologies include applied mathematics, numerical simulation, and data collection and processing. The main common research topics are numerical methods, dynamical systems theory, pattern formation, turbulence, ocean-atmosphere interactions, mesoscale and synoptic meteorology, and climate change. The group does high quality research, publishing a large number of papers in top quartile journals. The knowledge achieved in the most applied areas is transferred to society through the media and social networks and by direct contact with public administrations.
